Intercultural Development Inventory Assessment

The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is an online assessment tool to help individuals and teams assess and reflect on their stages of cultural sensitivity. Our team of qualified administrators use the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) to measure individual and team adaptability to differences and provide group and individual debriefs.

The IDI was developed by Dr. Mitchell Hammer and Dr. Milton Bennett as an empirical measurement of intercultural sensitivity, as per Bennett’s Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity (DMIS). The DMIS has been used extensively in intercultural education and training as a framework for explaining the reactions of people to cultural difference.

GlobalLK provided valued assistance to EDC in managing our initial critical conversation about race in the summer of 2020. They also supplied us with the Intercultural Development Instrument (IDI), providing important foundational insight into how behaviours guide inclusion. We received positive feedback and results from this team.
